“Illuminato” Recognized in Major Literary Prize

I’m thrilled to share that my book Illuminato has officially been selected as one of the ten finalists for the 1st José Nicolau Gregorin Filho Award for Young Adult Literature, promoted by the União Brasileira de Escritores (Brazilian Writers’ Union).
The full list of finalists was released this week and features works that stand out for their sensitivity, creativity, and resonance in the Brazilian YA literary scene. Among them, Illuminato appears as a symbolic fable about exclusion, transformation, and belonging—crafted for young readers who seek beauty and meaning even in what the world withholds.
The award ceremony will take place in São Paulo on September 30, 2025, at Espaço Colmeia, where the winning book will be announced. The event will be followed by a reception and additional tributes by the UBE. I have already confirmed my attendance for what promises to be an unforgettable night.
Regardless of the final result, this nomination marks a meaningful milestone for Illuminato, a story that rises from the dark — and endures.
Gratitude to the award committee, to the readers who have connected with the book, and to everyone who continues to walk alongside me in this artistic and literary journey.
